Travelers’ Choice Awards have voted Paris as the best destination in the world this year, followed by London. Meanwhile New York slipped to number ten in the charts.
This is the 10th year of TripAdvisor’s annual Travelers’ Choice Awards. TripAdvisor has ranked cities by using millions of algorithms for evaluating and ranking of hotels, restaurants and attractions within the past year.
Rome (Italy) ranks third and Bali (Indonesia) ranks fourth. It is interesting that after a period of popularity worldwide, New York City has fallen from fifth place in 2017 to 10th this year.
Other destinations that have become popular with tourists include Crete, Barcelona, Prague, Marrakesh (Morocco) and Istanbul (Turkey), respectively six, seven, eighth and ninth.
London still leads the list of best destination, followed by Edinburgh, Liverpool, New York, Glasgow, Blackpool and Belfast in second, third, fifth, sixth, ninth and tenth places respectively.
Meanwhile, only in the United States, New York City led the charts, followed by Hawaii, Maui, Big Island and Oahu. Las Vegas ranks fifth, followed by Orlando, San Diego, San Francisco and Key West.
TripAdvisor spokesman, Hayley Coleman, said budget travelers wishing to visit one of the world’s top 10 destinations may visit Istanbul (Turkey).
