According to the Reuters news agency, speaking to more than 2,000 delegates at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, the fourth political figure in China said: “We will strengthen our solidarity and friendship with our compatriots in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan as well as overseas compatriots.”

Mr. Du added that the regime would “mobilize all the children of the Chinese nation to cooperate with the greater national interest and realize the Chinese dream.”

The President of the Union referred to the wishes of Chinese President Xi Jinping to restore a young China with a global stature.

Just before that, on the 2-3rd, the Taiwan Affairs Bureau of the State Council of China declared that the Taipei government “should not rely on foreigners to promote images.

The statement comes after the US Senate passed a bill encouraging US and Taiwan officials to visit each other on Feb. 28 and Taiwan officials should be given the opportunity to travel to the United States.

The bill passed shortly before by the US House of Representatives would allow lobbying for US officials at all levels to come to Taiwan and conduct bilateral meetings. In addition, the bill also allows senior Taiwanese officials to come to the United States “under the conditions of respect” of the situation, as well as meet with US officials.

In mid-December 2016, US President Barack Obama, before leaving office, warned his successor of the severity of the “One China” policy change.

However, in the current situation it would be unusual for the US president to veto a bill that has received almost absolute support at two congressional institutions.

If passed, the bill would allow senior Taiwanese officials, including Thai-American leaders to travel to the United States. Another highlight of the bill is the urging of Taiwanese cultural and economic representatives to increase their activities in the United States.

China Daily said that if the United States passed a bill to strengthen relations with Taiwan, the move would only encourage Thai leaders to separate Taiwan from China.

“If Ms. Thai does not give up her intention, this action will have the unintended consequence of activating the 2005 Anti-Discrimination Act and allowing Beijing to use force to stop the broadcast” – Loan claims.

The Global Times asserted that China could “institute targeted measures against the pro-independence forces in Taiwan.”

“On the military side, the strength of the People’s Liberation Army has fundamentally changed the political and military situation along the strait, due to the rapid growth of the People’s Liberation Army, China The mainland now has an invincible initiative along the Taiwan Strait, “said the Global Times, referring to the narrowing of China and Taiwan.

Over the past year, Beijing has stepped up military operations around Taiwan including 16 exercises near Taiwan.

In December 2017, Taiwan’s defense agency warned of a growing military threat from China.

China-Taiwan relations have become more tense since Thai-English became Taipei’s leader in 2016.

Beijing says Mrs. Is pursuing Taiwan’s path of independence – a move seen as surpassing the Beijing government’ s red limits. Meanwhile, Thai insisted that she wanted to maintain her current status and pledged to maintain peace.
